Love Story
The Divine Beginning
At the end of 2015, God brought our lives together in the simplest way—through BlackBerry Messenger. At that time, Alex was a vocational high school student searching for his identity, while Aty had already begun her college journey. Alex often teased her by calling her "kakak" . Since we were in different phases of life, our conversations had their ups and downs. Yet, in His perfect timing, God planted a seed of curiosity in our hearts. What seemed like ordinary, casual chats turned out to be the beginning of a beautiful plan that God had written for us. We never imagined that a simple messaging app would become the starting point of our lifelong journey.
Walking in Faith and Love
After some time, Alex repeatedly asked Aty to meet, but filled with hesitation and shyness, she always declined. Feeling like his efforts were unreciprocated, Alex once called her "sombong" and chose to step back. But God's ways are always mysterious and beautiful. Those very words moved Aty’s heart, giving her the courage to step out of her comfort zone. We finally met for the first time at a motor community event, and from that moment on, we began to see each other through the eyes of love. Simple laughter, shared stories, and sincere care brought us closer day by day. We learned to accept each other’s strengths and weaknesses, realizing that love is a daily choice. On January 15, 2016, with God as our witness, we committed to walking together as a couple. The path was not always easy—there were tears, laughter, and difficult seasons. Yet, every storm was allowed by God to strengthen the roots of our relationship, shaping us from teenagers full of stories into mature individuals who support one another.
Prepared by God for Eternity
Nearly a decade of growing, waiting, and praying together led us to a deep sense of certainty. Through every trial and joy, Alex became convinced that Aty was the answer to his prayers—the one he would cherish forever. This ten-year journey is a true testament that a relationship built on God’s love, patience, and commitment can overcome any challenge. In March 2025, with hearts full of prayer and sincere intentions, Alex and his family made the long journey to Pematang Bandar, North Sumatra, to ask for Aty’s parents’ blessing. It was a sacred chapter in our love story. God filled the room with warmth and abundant joy as our families united. In front of our loved ones, Alex expressed his genuine intention to love, honor, and care for Aty for the rest of his life. With the beautiful blessing of our parents and God’s grace, our engagement officially united our hearts. Looking back, our journey is not just about how we met, but a beautiful testimony of how God sustained us, taught us to endure, helped us grow in maturity, and filled our hearts with a love that never fails.
The Eternal Covenant
“What God has joined together, let no one separate.” In June 2026, the prayers we have lifted in faith and the promises we have kept for over a decade will finally be fulfilled at God’s holy altar. After a beautiful journey filled with patience, maturity, and unwavering faithfulness, we step into the sacred bond of marriage. We stand before God, our families, and one another, ready to begin a new chapter as husband and wife. This wedding is not merely a celebration of our love, but a testimony of God’s faithfulness and His perfect timing. As we enter this new chapter, we are committed to always walk hand in hand, to build our home upon His love, and to love each other deeply through every season of life ahead. Our story does not end here—this is just the beautiful beginning of a lifetime journey together in God’s love.
